Welcome to the forth annual Digital Archives in the Commonwealth Summit. This year we have a diverse attendance of archivists, museum professionals, professors, graduate students, undergraduates, and many others we are delighted to convene for discussion of their work. The 2024 Summit is a joint effort between the University of Virginia Law Library and the Library of Virginia. It is an opportunity to present past, current, or ongoing digital archives-based projects and to explore the practical, theoretical, and methodological issues at the intersection of archival practice, scholarly research, and pedagogy.

Swag Table
The Summit will have a table for attendees to provide informational items about their projects. Attendees are encouraged to bring pamphlets, postcards, and other swag items. Be sure to explore this area when you arrive.
Lightning Round
Each year, the Summit concludes with a lightning round of brief 3-minute presentations. Everyone is encouraged to step up and present about a project (large, small, in the works), digital archival practices, or whatever, really.
Hosting 2025
Each year, the Summit has been hosted by a new partner institution. Doing so encourages attendance from different geographic regions around Virginia and has added new members to the planning committee. If your institution is interested in hosting next year’s Summit, please chat with a member of the planning committee.
